Why did I choose the Property Sector and Gibson Hollyhomes?

I joined Gibson Hollyhomes Recruitment as I really bought into the Directors and the staff on my first initial meeting. The set up isn’t a big corporate environment and the majority of staff have been here for a significant period of time – the turnover of staff is really low. They offer a really competitive market salary and one of the best commission structures in Recruitment. The company also offers good work life balance, quarterly doo’s which are really fun and every member of staff here is approachable.

I have really enjoyed working for Gibson Hollyhomes so far, I have had exposure to meeting key Clients and been given the freedom to work independently whilst still receiving guidance from more Senior members of staff. I also enjoy the importance of keeping up to date with the Property Market, with Brexit looming the market is in a period of fluctuation and there is a lot of uncertainty. However, recruiting in a field you are passionate about is a big motivation. I have a deep interest in property which all started in my role as a Sales and Lettings Negotiator after University. My own personal goal is to grow a property portfolio of my own in the coming years.

Training has been thorough, GHH have an in-depth training guide which has been discussed at length. All aspects of the training have been useful and it’s not forced upon you within the first week, you are consistently mentored and if you need help, everybody is on hand to advise and assist you. I’m never left to my own devices if I’m stuck with something.

One of the key things I have learnt so far is the importance of meeting Clients and Candidates, this way you really build those relationships and gain a deeper understanding of what the Candidates and Clients are looking for. I have also developed my Candidate control knowledge, making sure I understand their motives for leaving previous employment, where they are interviewing and placing them in a Company which will be a great fit for them as a person – not just chasing a fee!

My goal in the next few months is to grow as a Recruiter and become a specialist across the Property Sector. I would like to be recognised in the field as one of the leading Property Recruiters for both Clients and Candidates.
