A new opportunity has opened for a Head Legal Cashier to join the team on a permanent basis in an involving role, working closely with the Partner of the firm and the external accountant.
The Ideal Candidate will have 5 years of experience working for a solicitor firm in the capacity of a Legal Cashier.
Key point is to ensure the correct procedures have been followed according to the SRA rules and Regulations. The successful Legal Cashier must have a clear understanding of SRA rules and regulations and an ILFM qualification would be beneficial. Other advanced Accounts qualifications would be considered

- Banking
- Transfers: Client to Office, Office to Client
- Journals: Client to Client, Disbursement to Disbursement
- Designated Deposit Accounts: Opening, Closing, Quarterly Interest entries, Withdrawals, Deposits, Maintaining, transactions through bank and on Xero
- Checking and entering Bills
- Purchase Ledgers system – Counsel Fee Notes/Professional Expenses
- Suppliers invoices, ensuring items received, checking correct charges, marry up with a delivery note, querying, checking, paying by cheque or BACS
- Various Accounting reports as & when requested by Fee Earners, Billing Reports, WIP, calculating funds received from Client over time
- Complying and keeping up to date with SAR’s
- Being Mindful of Money Laundering and reporting to Money Laundering Officer any suspicious transactions
- Checking completion statements
- Monthly credit card management
- Report to Partners
- Accountants Annual Audit – To assist Finance Manager
- Ordering paying in Books, Cheques, filing of monthly statements
- Write-offs (Time, Disbursements, Bills)
- Reopening Files
- Bank Charges and Interest
- Online Invoicing: Land Registry, Court fees, Easy Convey searches
Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
