Temporary Parts Operative (HGV)

Our client based in Morley, a busy (20+ engineer) road transport business are looking for a parts administrator to join their team on a temporary basis. The team are looking for someone  who has a background within the HGV industry and can competently identify 44 tonne trailer running gear parts to support their team. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and a 4-weekly Saturday morning rota.

Key Duties include;

  • Receiving parts from suppliers/couriers and putting the parts in their allocated spaces.
  • Viewing road tankers and trailers and identifying required parts
  • Sourcing required parts from suppliers
  • Negotiating best prices
  • Issuing parts to staff
  • Arranging couriers and packing for parts order customers
  • Managing stock levels
  • Inputting parts orders and deliveries into a database system
  • Raising PO and invoices on a database

 

Must be/have:

  • Essential – Experience working in a transport parts / stores department
  • Good interpersonal skills – at all levels
  • Good customer service experience
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good IT skills
  • Well organised
  • Fork lift license would be desirable
