Our client is a renowned and expanding legal firm who are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary for their Employment, Pensions and IPT team.  The successful candidate will join the specialist practice group and provide a comprehensive secretarial support service as well as providing a team leader service.

Experience in the above fields would advantageous but not essential. The client would also look at Finance and Corporate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all the workflow is coordinated appropriately with the other secretaries in the team
  • Delegate workloads to the secretaries and the admin team
  • Make a plan to ensure complex workload deadlines are adhered too
  • Liaise with the fee earners and keep them up to date with their workloads
  • Processing correspondence as required for clients
  • Maintaining both hard and soft copies of client files
  • Answering calls and taking messages where necessary
  • Arranging meetings and conferences
  • Diary management
  • Raising monthly invoices for legal services
  • Dealing with client enquiries
  • Time recording
  • Bills and expenses for allocated fee earners

Other Duties:

  • Attending team meetings
  • Conducting various searches – land registry and company searches
  • Open, close and archive files when required


  • Ability to type accurately
  • Ability to deal with confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible approach
  • Experience of digital dictation systems
  • Typing speed above 65wpm
